50 Forward:
The Celebration Continues!

A Message from Dance Theatre of Harlem

Dear Dance Theatre of Harlem Supporters:

After careful consideration, Dance Theatre of Harlem has decided to cancel the 2020 NY Season, which was originally scheduled for April 15 -18, 2020. As you know, New York City and State officials are working hard to limit large gatherings to prevent further spread of the coronavirus. We are disappointed to not be able to share our season of performances in April, however, your health and well-being, and that of our staff, and Company is our primary concern. Our hope is to reschedule our performances to another date in 2020, but at this time that has not yet been determined.

For those of you who purchased tickets to our performances, THANK YOU. We are happy to offer you two options for your consideration:

-We sincerely hope you will consider donating your tickets back to Dance Theatre of Harlem as a tax-deductible contribution. In this crisis, we need your support more than ever. To donate the value of your ticket(s) as a tax-deductible contribution to Dance Theatre of Harlem, please contact CityTix at 212.581.1212 or

-If you would like to request a refund, please contact CityTix at 212.581.1212 or

The late, legendary Arthur Mitchell’s extraordinary vision for ballet in the 21st century is vibrantly alive with performances featuring live music and a new generation of choreographic voices. Fifty years ago, Mitchell and master teacher Karel Shook co-founded Dance Theatre of Harlem to challenge perceptions and create new opportunities. Join us for a stirring look at the future of ballet at New York City Center, April 15 – 18, 2020.
