Derek Brockington

Born:  Chicago, IL, raised in Holland, Michigan 

Training: The Dance Asylum, Grand Rapids Ballet School, Interlochen Arts Academy, Ballet West, and Pennsylvania Ballet Summer Intensives.

Professional Experience: Dance Theatre of Harlem (ninth season), Cincinnati Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, and guest artist with Houston Ballet.

Repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Robert Garland, Claudia Schreier, Stanton Welch, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Darrell Grand Moultrie, and Jodie Gates. Choreography includes works created for Dance Theatre of Harlem, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, and New Jersey Festival Orchestra at Soho House New York.

Additional Work: Recognized by Crain’s New York Business as one of its 20 in Their 20s for his contributions to Dance Theatre of Harlem’s digital media presence.
