Ingrid described EmpowHer NY as, “… a social catalyst that ignites the conversation about woman who break through the glass ceiling imposed by society and live authentically according to their truth. We are a platform that generates opportunities for education and [a] network for those aspiring to claim their own path. We are opportunity makers, a lifetime fuel for woman who want to break free from their status quo. We are here to be the protagonist of our lives, and we need to own it.”
When asked what inspired her to start EmpowHer NY, Ingrid said, ” I was inspired to give [a] voice to women and have them in a place where they feel comfortable to speak about anything and feel supported.”
Blacks in Ballet was founded by Ingrid Silva, Fábio Mariano and Ruan Galdino. “Blacks in Ballet is a platform created to highlight black ballet dancers. The purpose is to educate, break preconceptions and inspire others by sharing stories of dancers of color from different generations.”, explained Ingrid.
The inspiration behind Blacks in Ballet was simple. Ingrid stated, “We are looking to bring diversity to the dance world and we have a digital platform that will serve to bring knowledge; a platform that highlights black ballet dancers and their stories worldwide.”
We are proud of the meaningful work Ingrid and her partners are doing. We look forward to seeing what’s to come for EmpowHer NY and Blacks in Ballet in the future.
