Dance Theatre of Harlem, Lower & Upper SchoolsThe Dance Theatre of Harlem School provides high-quality classical ballet and dance training to children and youth from ages 3 to 18, ensuring that students of diverse backgrounds feel inspired and supported. In our building, students feel physically and emotionally safe and are encouraged to explore their greatest potential as growing artists. Classical ballet classes follow the carefully calibrated DTH Syllabus and students also study select other disciplines that serve to broaden their developmental capacities.2025 Spring Calendar- January 21, 2025: First Day of Classes (2025 Spring Session), Upper School
- January 25, 2025: First Day of Classes (2025 Spring Session), Lower School
- February 17, 2025: President’s Day Holiday, No Classes
- April 14 – 18, 2025: School Break, No Classes
- May 10, 2025: Last Day of Classes, Lower School
- May 17, 2025: Last Day of Classes, Upper School

WHO SHOULD TAKE A PLACEMENT CLASS?Male and female students ages 3 – 18 years.WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?Dancers may wear a t-shirt or tank-top, gym/basketball shorts or leggings, and dance in bare feet or non-slip socks. For dancers with training: girls may wear leotard, tights, and ballet slippers. Boys may wear fitted t-shirt or tank-top, tights, leggings, or shorts, and ballet slippers.WHAT CAN I EXPECT?You will be evaluated during a standard ballet class.WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?All students will receive an email notification. If accepted, you will also receive a link with more information (online registration information, online payments, etc.).IS THERE A PLACEMENT CLASS FEE?Yes. There is a $10.00 audition fee.Programs
