Divine Nine & HBCU Night: 2025 New York Season

Join Dance Theatre of Harlem on Saturday, April 12th at New York City Center for our annual Divine Nine & HBCU Night in partnership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council of New York City, Inc. and the New York Hampton Alumni Club, Inc. & The Long Island Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc. This evening provides a unique opportunity for Dance Theatre of Harlem, members of the Divine Nine, along with HBCU alumni, faculty, and students to celebrate our collective history and culture, and to recognize the outstanding service and dedication of these organizations and institutions to the communities they serve. 

Be the first to witness the world premiere of Jodie Gates’s latest work and feel the pulse of a new piece celebrating Black joy by DTH Artistic Director Robert Garland. Adding to the excitement, DTH will present the Company Premiere of George Balanchine’s  Donizetti Variations, a joyful, effervescent series of dances brimming with warmth and wit, and for ONE NIGHT ONLY, audience favorite, Return, Robert Garland’s soulful celebration set to the legendary sounds of James Brown and Aretha Franklin Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  

Doors open at 6:30pm with a Dance Party featuring Superhero DJ Jon Quick- 94.7 The Block and member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The performance begins at 7:30pm and the dance party continues after the show!
