BAAND Together Dance Festival
5 Performances Only! August 9-13
Returning to Lincoln Center after a series of sold-out, tour de force performances as part of last summer’s Restart Stages, the BAAND Together Dance Festival joins Summer for the City August 9-13! Five of NYC’s most iconic dance companies—Ballet Hispánico, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, and Dance Theatre of Harlem—share the spotlight and an outdoor stage with pieces from the companies’ repertoire featured each night.
Dance Theatre of Harlem performances will feature Robert Garland’s Return, a piece that deploys his signature “post-modern urban neoclassicism” to magnify the soulful exuberance of the music of James Brown and Aretha Franklin thereby creating a ballet that is pure joy to behold, and Helen Pickett’s original work for DTH, When Love, where her exquisite pas de deux captures the wondrous feeling of timeless love.
